Make Them Talk

As the world becomes more connected how can we help our world language students become more comfortable speaking another language?

While chaperoning a trip to Honduras I need to run an errand with two students, one of whom was taking AP Spanish. As it turns out we got lost and needed to ask for directions. I turned to the AP Spanish student and asked her to ask someone. I was amazed that she had so much trouble mustering the courage and the language for a simple request.

In this session we will discuss different ways foreign language teachers can cultivate oral proficiency in their classrooms.
